General overview
What is selling on Amazon?
Selling on Amazon is a programme that allows individuals and businesses to sell their products and inventory on the Internet through Amazon stores, such as Amazon.es
Why should I sell on Amazon?
There are two main reasons: the opportunity to present your product to hundreds of millions of potential customers, and the ability to start selling quickly without having to set up a business website or a physical store.
Can I list my products in all categories on Amazon?
Prior authorisation may be required to list certain products in certain categories. See the Selling page for more information.
What types of products cannot be listed on Amazon.es?
Some products may not be listed due to compliance with legal or regulatory restrictions (e.g., prescription drugs) or Amazon policy (e.g., crime scene photos). For detailed information, see our help section for Restricted Products.
What is the A-to-z Guarantee programme?
The A-to-z Guarantee programme is designed to handle situations where a customer either never received a product or received a product different from the one they ordered or expected. We ask customers to firstly contact the selling partner when they have a problem. If the selling partner does not resolve the issue, the customer can file an A-to-z claim. When Amazon.es receives the claim, we send the selling partner an email detailing the claim. This email requires the selling partner to respond with basic information about the order and the fulfilment process. We then determine how the claim will be settled, which may include refunding the order to the customer.
How do I open a new selling partner account on Amazon?
Visit the pricing page to subscribe to the Professional plan or the Individual plan. You can use your Amazon customer account or create a new account with your business email address. To register, you need to provide the following information:
- Credit or debit card
- Phone number
- Bank details
- Identification number (CIF/NIF)
- Email address
Can I change my account from a Professional selling account to an Individual selling account?
Yes. If you don't want to be charged a monthly subscription fee, you can switch your account from the Professional plan to the Individual plan through the My Services page in Seller Central (login required).
If you change your plan, your account remains open and you can continue to offer products on Amazon as an individual selling partner. However, you will lose access to the benefits of the Professional plan, such as bulk product uploading, order reports, shipping rates customised by the selling partner, and special features for listings. Please also keep in mind that only offers from Professional selling partners are eligible for featured offer status on product detail pages.

How do I close my Amazon selling partner account?
To permanently close your Amazon selling partner account, request that your account be closed in Seller Central. Keep in mind that you can use our Listing Status feature to suspend your product listings, or you can delete them completely but hold on to your account for future use. Before you permanently close your account, remember to cancel and delete your listings and complete all transactions.

How much does it cost to sell on Amazon.es?
Amazon has two selling plans. The Professional selling plan costs €39 (excluding VAT) per month plus a referral fee for each product sold, which varies by category. The Individual selling plan costs €0.99 per unit sold plus a referral fee for each product sold, which varies by category. If you plan to sell fewer than 35 products per month, the Individual plan may be the best option for you.
In addition to the cost of your selling plan and referral fees, other costs may apply, depending on how you ship orders, whether you decide to advertise them, etc.

What are the differences between the Professional and Individual accounts?
Third-party selling partners can sell in Amazon stores by signing up for the Professional or Individual plan. With the Individual plan, selling partners pay a fee for each unit they sell. With the Professional plan, selling partners pay a flat fee per month, no matter how many units they sell.
When do I start paying my monthly subscription fee?
The monthly subscription fee only applies to Professional selling accounts and starts as soon as the registration process ends. The first monthly subscription fee will be charged at that time, unless you sign up with a promotional offer.
How do I get paid?
Amazon will settle your account 14 days after you register. Subsequently, the payment process repeats every 14 days. It normally takes around five business days from the payment date until the money is available in your bank account. For payment to be made, you must have a bank account in your selling partner account and a positive or zero balance. Referral fees, variable selling fees for an item, customer refunds, customer claims, and charge backs, if any, may affect your balance.

How do I manage my selling partner account?
Use the Seller Central website to manage all parts of your Amazon business. Seller Central is the website where you can manage your selling partner account, add product information, update your inventory, and manage orders and payments.
How do I add inventory?
You have four options for entering product-related information:
- Use the Sell on Amazon button on Amazon product pages.
- Use the Add a Product feature in Seller Central to list a new product.
- Use Excel-based inventory files to add multiple product listings at once.
- Use Amazon Marketplace Web Services to perform bulk uploads and get reports from your system.
How will I know when I make a sale?
Amazon notifies you by email or text message when you receive an order. You can choose your notification methods in your account settings.
How much does it cost to ship the products I sell on Amazon?
Shipping rates depend on whether you plan to fulfil orders yourself or use FBA to manage your fulfilment and customer service.
How does Fulfilment by Amazon work?
With Fulfilment by Amazon, you store your products in Amazon's fulfilment centres and we pick, pack, ship and provide customer service for said products.
What is the featured offer?
The featured offer is where customers start the purchase process on a product detail page by adding products to their shopping baskets. A key feature of Amazon stores is that the same product can have multiple offers from multiple selling partners. If more than one selling partner offers the same product in new condition, they can opt for the featured offer for that product.
To be eligible to become a featured offer, you must have a Professional selling partner account and demonstrate that the shopping experience you provide for customers is excellent. Amazon uses account performance-based criteria to determine your eligibility for featured offer placement. Eligible listings that are not given featured offer placement are visible in the "More Buying Choices" box. Amazon does not guarantee placement in either of these locations.

Can I offer gift wrapping and gift messaging services to my customers on Amazon.es?
Yes, for sales in categories other than Books, Video and DVDs. Our gift messaging service allows customers to write gift messages for individual products or for entire orders, and our gift wrap service allows customers to select and pay for gift wrapping for each product in the order. As an Amazon selling partner, you can make one or both services available to people who buy your products.
How can I sell my products in other international Amazon stores, such as the United States and Japan?
Selling in other Amazon stores is similar to selling in Spain. When you set up a Professional selling partner account in Spain, you immediately have the option to list eligible products in North America (United States, Canada and Mexico), Europe, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia and more.
