What is product compliance?
Product compliance describes the set of regulatory requirements that a product must meet in order to be sold in the European Union. These requirements cover all phases of the product life cycle: from safety and compliance regulations for the product and its production to mandatory information on the product's physical packaging and online product detail page.
Product requirements in the EU and the UK
The requirements for listing your products may vary depending on the product and the country in which you sell, so we recommend that you consult your legal advisor or supplier to ensure that you have all the relevant information.
Market surveillance regulation
What are the current requirements? Since 16 July 2021, it has been illegal to sell CE-marked products in the EU if there is no responsible person in the EU. CE-marked products must include the contact information of the responsible person on one of the labels. Labelling may be applied to the product, the packaging, the package or to any accompanying document.
Responsible person
Amazon already collects the contact information for the responsible person for the non-EU brands and ASINs that use Fulfilment by Amazon through the responsible person's control panel.
