Overview

What does Selling on Amazon mean?
Selling on Amazon is a programme that allows individuals and businesses to sell their products and inventory on the Internet through Amazon stores, such as Amazon.es
Why should I sell on Amazon?
The two main reasons are: the opportunity to put your product in front of hundreds of millions of potential customers and the ability to start selling quickly without having to set up a business website or a physical store.
Can I list my products in all categories on Amazon?
Prior authorisation may be required to list certain products in certain categories. See the Sell page for more information.
What types of products cannot be listed on Amazon.es?
Some products may not be included in the list due to compliance with legal or regulatory restrictions (e.g., prescription drugs) or Amazon policy (e.g., crime scene photos). For detailed information, see our Restricted products Help section.
What is the A-Z Programme?
First of all, we ask customers to contact the seller when they have a problem. If the seller is unable to resolve the issue, the customer can file an A-Z Claim. Once Amazon.es receives the complaint, we send an automatic email to the seller with the details of the claim where we will request a response with basic information about the order and the fulfilment process. Next, Amazon.es will determine how to resolve the claim, which may result in refunding the order to the customer, payable by the seller
How do I open a new Amazon seller account?
Visit the Prices page to subscribe to the Professional plan or the Individual plan. You can use your Amazon customer account or create a new account with your business email address. To register, you need to provide the following information:
  • Credit or debit card
  • Phone number
  • Bank account Information
  • VAT number, if your business has a registered VAT number
  • Email address
Can I cancel my subscription to the Professional plan?
Yes. If you don't want to be charged a monthly subscription fee, you can switch your account from the Professional plan to the Individual plan from the My Services page in Seller Central (login required).

If you change your plan, your account remains open and you can continue to offer products on Amazon as an Individual seller, but you will lose access to the benefits of the Professional plan, such as bulk uploading, order reports, seller customised shipping rates, or special listing features. Also, only offers from Professional sellers can benefit from featured offer status on product detail pages.
How do I close my Amazon seller account?
To permanently close your Amazon seller account, request that your account be closed in Seller Central. Please note that you can use our Listing Status feature to suspend your product listings, or you can delete them completely, but keep your account to use them in the future. Before you permanently close your account, remember to cancel and delete your listings and resolve all transactions.

Pricing

How much does it cost to sell on Amazon.es?
Amazon has two selling plans. The Pro seller plan costs €39 (excluding VAT) per month plus a referral fee for each product sold that varies by category. The Individual selling plan costs €0.99 per unit sold plus a referral fee for each product that varies by category. If you plan to sell fewer than 40 products a month, the Individual plan may be the best one for you.

In addition to the cost of your selling plan and referral fees, other costs may apply, depending on how you ship orders, whether you choose to advertise them, etc.
What are the differences between Professional and Individual accounts?
Third-party sellers can sell in Amazon stores by signing up for the Professional plan or the Individual plan. With the Individual plan, sellers pay a fee for each unit they sell. With the Professional plan, sellers pay a flat rate per month, no matter how many units they sell.
When do I start paying my monthly subscription fee?
The monthly subscription fee only applies to Pro seller accounts and starts as soon as the registration process ends. The first monthly subscription fee will be charged at that time, unless you sign up with a promotional offer.
How will I get paid?
Amazon Payments Europe makes the first payment to your account 14 days after your registration. Subsequent transfers will be made every 14 days. It usually takes five business days from the date of payment until the money is available in your bank account. In order for the payment to be made, you must have a bank account in your seller account and a positive or zero balance in “Sell on Amazon”. Referral fees, variable selling fees for an item, customer refunds, customer claims, or charge backs, if any, may affect your balance.

Sell

How do I manage my seller account?
Use the Seller Central website to manage all components of your Amazon business. Seller Central is the website where you can manage your seller account, add product information, update inventory, and manage orders and payments.
How do I add inventory?
You have four options for entering product-related information:
  • Use the Sell on Amazon button on Amazon product pages.
  • Use the Add a Product feature in Seller Central to list one new product at a time.
  • Use Excel-based inventory files to add multiple product listings at once.
  • Use Amazon Marketplace Web Service for bulk uploads and reports.
How will I know when I make a sale?
Amazon notifies you by email or text message when you receive an order. You can choose any of the notification methods in your account settings.
How much does it cost to ship the products I sell on Amazon?
Shipping rates depend on whether you plan to fulfil orders yourself or use FBA to manage your fulfilment and customer service.
How does Fulfilment by Amazon work?
With FBA, you store your products in Amazon fulfilment centres and we pick, package, ship and provide customer service for these products.
What is the featured offer?
The featured offer (sometimes referred to as a “Buy Box”) is the part of the product detail page that allows customers to start the checkout process by adding products to their cart. A key feature of the Amazon store is that the same product can have multiple offers from multiple sellers. If more than one seller offers the same product in new condition, they can compete for that product's featured offer.

To compete for the allocation of featured offers, you must have a Pro seller account and demonstrate a great shopping experience for customers. Amazon uses performance-based criteria to determine eligibility for the featured offer and assignment status. Eligible listings that do not earn featured offer status can be placed in the “More Buying Choices” box. Amazon does not guarantee placement in any of these locations.
Can I offer Wrapping and Gift Messaging services to my Amazon.es customers?
Yes, for sales in categories other than Books, Video and DVD. Our Gift Message services allow the customer to write gift messages for individual items or for entire orders, and our Gift Wrap service allows them to select and pay for gift wrapping for each of the items included in their order. As an Amazon Services seller, you can make one or both of these services available to buyers of your items.
How can I sell my products in other international Amazon stores, such as Amazon.com and Amazon.co.jp?
Selling in other Amazon stores is similar to selling in Spain. When you set up a Pro seller account In the United Kingdom, you immediately have the option to list eligible products in North America (Canada and Mexico), Europe, Japan, Australia and other places. Learn more about how to sell in Amazon stores around the world.

Third-party resources

You can find resources from trusted third parties in the Appstore on the Amazon website, which offers applications to help you automate, manage, and grow your business, and at Service provider network, a comprehensive directory of services to help you with key aspects of selling. Amazon screens developers and service providers during the application process, reviewed by customers and continuously audited for compliance.

Amazon does not support other third-party resources, such as conferencing, consulting, and online training. Be careful when hiring non-Amazon resources to avoid fraud and misinformation that may result in the suspension of your seller account.
